Anyone is welcome to attend the meeting. The meeting will feature a
presentation entitled Virtualization Management the oVirt Way by Brian
Proffitt, a Principal Program Manager at Red Hat.
The world of virtualization seems to be getting passed by with all of the
advances in containers and container management technology. But don't count
virtual machines out just yet. Large-scale, centralized management for
server and desktop virtual machines is available now, with the free and
open source software platform oVirt. This KVM-based management tool
provides production-ready VM management to organizations large and small,
and is used by universities, businesses, and even major airports. Join Red
Hat's Brian Proffitt on a tour of oVirt plus a fun look at how VMs and
containers *do* work together.
Brian Proffitt is a Principal Program Manager at Red Hat, Inc. He Served as
oVirt Community Liaison and co-launched Project Atomic community
infrastructure in six weeks in 2014. He is responsible for advocating and
management of community outreach for the Open Source and Standards team.
oVirt is the upstream, open source community project upon which Red Hat
Enterprise Virtualization (RHEV) is based. If you are familiar with or use
VMware technologies, you should be very interested in oVirt & RHEV.
