I was just reading an online story[1] about how the FBI has shut
down "a cyber hornet's nest of criminal hackers" (according to U.S.
Attorney David Hickton) called Darkode. One of those charged is
Phillip R. Fleitz, aka Strife, 31, of Indianapolis.[2]
He is accused of "conspiring to send spam" by "participating in a
sophisticated scheme to maintain a spam botnet that utilized
bulletproof servers in China to exploit vulnerable routers in third
world countries, and that sent millions of electronic mail messages
designed to defeat the spam filters of cellular phone providers."

Please, please tell me that those convicted of spamming face life
with no chance of parole! ;-)
