Playing Blu-Ray Discs In Linux

     I was wondering if any of you out there play Blu-Ray discs on your
GNU/Linux computers. This article from January of this year:

<http://www.howtogeek.com/240487/how-to-play-dvds-and-blu-rays-on-linux/>

...and this recently edited Arch Linux wiki page:

<https://wiki.archlinux.org/index.php/Blu-ray>

...state there are still key databases to be downloaded and a
stream-the-movie-through-MakeMKV-to-VLC method for some of the very
latest Blu-Ray discs.
     Am I right to assume that is still the case? Do any of you do this?
