Hello, all; do we have any experienced uses of Tomcat/Jakarta out
here on the CINLUG list?
I know nothing about Tomcat/Jakarta, so I need some help
accomplishing what should be a simple task. We have a Tomcat/Jakarta
server that some manager-types are wanting to use in a test. Part of
that test is bringing up a web browser, typing in a URL and showing a
static web page from that Tomcat/Jakarta server.
The URL they're typing in is a CNAME of the server's actual name.
The static web page will be a simple "This is server x" page. The test
is to prove that using the CNAME in the browser gets us to the right server.
Since I don't know anything about Tomcat/Jakarta, though, I don't
know how to insert a static web page. If this was just Apache, I'd
create a "test.html" file in /var/www/htdocs (or whatever the document
root is) and be done with it. Does anybody have suggestions on how to
do what management is wanting? (Yes, I know there are other ways I
could `prove` traffic is getting/coming from that server, but they want
something visual that they can understand.) Thanks!
