In conjunction with Dave Brown's GIMP presentation in December 2007, we
present the CINLUG GIMP image creation contest OFFICIAL RULES:

   1. There is an image gallery setup for members to upload their
   entries at http://www.cinlug.org/g2/gallery/contests/gimpw2k8/

   2. One entry per member. You need not be a paid CINLUG member to
enter. Save the images as JPGs and use the GIMP to create/save them.
"Created with GIMP" must be in the image properties. You may add your
name and other details there as well if you wish.

   3. Entries must be original photos and/or created from scratch. Do
not use copyrighted material. If you post your image on the gallery,
you need not release it under the GPL (although it is encouraged).
Since the image is your original work you may retain your copyright
with permission to CINLUG to have a copy in their gallery. If you
wish to be sure you retain your copyright simply note it in the image
   properties as well.

   4. Deadline for entry is 2/15/2008. The gallery will be closed to
uploads at this time and an web poll will opened for voting.

   5. Between 2/15/2008 and 3/1/2008 members and non-members with
website access will be able to cast a single vote via the web poll.

   6. The polling will close on 3/1/2008, and we will announce on the
website and via the mailing list the top (3) images prior to the
   March meeting on 3/5/2008.

   7. The winning image creators must be present at the March meeting to
accept their prize if they win.

   8. The top 3 images will be showcased and the artists can describe
their work at the March meeting.

   9. Members who attend the March meeting will then cast a single paper
ballot to select the winner. The artists may vote as well.

  10. The winner will be presented with a $100 Fry's gift card, and
his/her image will be showcased on the website.

  11. In the event that there is a tie in the web poll there may be more
than 3 "top" images. For example, one image gets 15 votes, a second
gets 13 votes, and a third and fourth tie at 6 apiece. In this case we
would have 4 images to chose from at the March meeting.

Good Luck!
